Selah at 2 months

Selah was awesome on her first road trip...and it was a long one! We broke the drive from Houston to Amarillo into a 2-day drive. We stopped at the Hayes house for a night each way. Steve is one of Ryan's good friends from college. Selah pretty much slept and ate and played a little in between.

Selah had her 2 month check-up today. She is definitely a well child. She is 24 1/8 inches long, weighing in at 12 pounds 8 ounces. Her grandmother, Ama, accompanied us to the doctor's appointment because I was afraid we'd have a repeat of the last doctor's appointment. She screamed for 1.5 hours straight at the last appointment. This time she only cried for about 30 seconds after her shots. She's a strong, tough baby girl.

Selah is starting to settle into more of a sleep routine and is now sleeping in her crib. I love being a mom!

New Niece!

Sarah Katherine Steinbach was born on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at 11.11 am. She is 7 lbs 4 oz, 21 in long and has some nice dark hair. Laura and I went down to the hospital to see them that night. My sister and niece are doing well after the delivery, and are hoping to go home from the hospital today.

When I spoke with Rebecca the day before she delivered, I was surprised to have so many emotions flood back to me. The experience of Laura's labor and delivery was the most intense thing I have ever experienced, and just thinking about Becca and Dave going through that reminded me of how special, momentous, and unique that experience was for me.

We held Selah up next to Sarah Kate and Selah looks twice as big! And they're only 7 weeks apart. Blessings to the new addition our extended family--Sarah Kate.

Grammy Visit

She's getting to be a chub rock. Selah's eating well and sleeping pretty well, too. She set a record two nights ago with 5 hours uninterrupted bliss. Grammy paid us a visit this weekend. And by "us," I mean she came to see Selah. It was great to see her. That's her thumb in the picture.
