Bittersweet...again

Oh how God has blessed us, that we should be called His children.

Selah had her 6 month well-baby check-up yesterday and she is still holding on to her 90th Percentile rank!! She weighs 18 pounds, 4 ounces and is 27 inches long. (Baby Tye has got some eatin' to do!!) The pediatrician agrees with us--she is a physically perfect baby! She smiles all the time and laughs a lot. She's also starting to pull herself across the floor to get to objects out of her reach!

The past 2 months has flown by. We had a lot to accomplish while we were in training and I think it was accomplished. The main thing that I think needed to happen while we were there was for us to be humbled and so completely overwhelmed that we cannot possibly consider relying on ourselves to get us through the next years. And who wants to just “get through?” We want to live abundantly in God’s grace and bring glory to His name. How much more we should seek after Him daily!!

We have made some good friends and learned how God is working all around. We’ve enjoyed a meal at the Cheesecake Factory and many, many nourishing meals at a local dining facility. We asked a few people to “monitor-sit” after Selah was asleep so Ryan and I could get out for a few hours. We visited a new pediatrician when Selah caught a cold that gave way for an ear infection a week later. Today she went back and got 5 shots!! Yikes! She is quite a trooper. On the other hand, her dad complained maybe a few seconds longer after his 2 shots. For those of you in Houston, you’ll be relieved to know that if we are bitten by a bat, we have no need to worry about contracting rabies because all three of us have been immunized.

We are grateful for the support of family and friends. Leaving is bittersweet.
